Kibar Group Involves Its Stakeholders in the Sustainability Journey

Kibar Holding Vice President of Procurement Gonca Batur: "We carry out all our activities in line with our 2025 Sustainability Strategy, which is based on the United Nations Global Compact."

ISTANBUL (AA) – Kibar Holding has launched the K-STAR Program as part of its 2025 Sustainability Strategy.

According to a statement from the Holding, Kibar Holding’s sustainability journey will reach over 100 countries.

Kibar Holding continues to implement innovative projects under its 2025 Sustainability Strategy. The K-STAR program, which is a first in its field, will integrate the Group’s extensive ecosystem of over 5,000 stakeholders from different regions of the world into its sustainability efforts.

Under the program, all procurement activities will be managed from a single center in accordance with sustainability principles. Stakeholders will undergo training and seminars based on surveys specially designed for them.

Sustainability Survey and Regular Monitoring Mechanism

With the program, sustainability surveys will be designed for Kibar Holding’s large-scale business partners and SME network in more than 100 countries, assessing their capabilities and positions from the perspectives of industry, geography, and sector. Action plans and phased programs, containing the necessary steps and goals to support them on their sustainability journey, will be developed using the collected data.

Training and webinars will be planned and implemented, and regular monitoring mechanisms will be established to reach the defined goals. Additionally, the Group’s procurement decision criteria and processes will be reviewed to align with sustainability expectations, making necessary changes where required.

"We aim to create a supplier portfolio that guarantees a sustainable procurement structure"

Gonca Batur, Vice President of Procurement at Kibar Holding, shared her views on the global transformation in sustainability, considering it a threshold to be crossed through business initiatives. She continued:

"As one of Turkey's leading industrial organizations, we aim to support responsibilities toward our customers and institutions within the framework of our group’s sustainability strategies and review procurement policies and practices based on defined criteria. In this regard, with the launch of the K-STAR Kibar Group Supplier Sustainability Program, we aim to evaluate, guide, and monitor the ecosystem of over 5,000 suppliers, from SMEs to global giants, to ensure a sustainable procurement structure."

Batur highlighted that sustainability has now become one of the fundamental building blocks of global systems, and she added:

"We carry out all our activities in line with our 2025 Sustainability Strategy, which is based on the United Nations Global Compact. Among the most significant projects we have implemented in this context is the K-STAR program, through which we aim to illuminate our future by guiding our stakeholders on the sustainability path with K-STAR, the ‘Kibar Star.’ We approach sustainability not only as environmental protection or fighting the global climate crisis but as an integrated concept within the vision we’ve developed, encompassing all its dimensions within our vast ecosystem."
